Pflege routine indoor garten

care routine for your indoor garden

To ensure your Everleaf Garden always shines in all its glory, it requires conscientious and regular care. We have compiled a clear guide for you so that your Everleaf Garden is always well-maintained and your plants can grow optimally.

Weekly care routine (approx. 5 min.) :

  1. Refilling water: It's best to fill up to the "Max" indicator and note how many liters of water were added. For every liter of water added, mix in 4ml of plant food A and 4ml of plant food B. Important: Never mix the two nutrients directly. Always dissolve them separately in the water, otherwise they will clump together. Then stir the water well.

Tip: It's best to get a larger watering can with a volume of 5 or 10 liters – this makes refilling the water much faster and more convenient.

  2. Measuring the pH value: Take a water sample using a pH test kit and measure the pH value. The optimal pH value is between 5 and 6.5. Adjust accordingly with pH-Minus in case of deviations. Stir the water well before each measurement. Tip: Since the plants absorb nutrients during the week (which have a slight pH-lowering effect), the pH value gradually increases.
Therefore, we recommend setting it slightly lower at first – in the range of 5.0 to 5.5 (light orange). This way, it will remain in the ideal range even after a few days.

  3. Plant check: Check your plants for deficiencies and pests. The sooner problems are noticed, the sooner you can counteract them with simple measures. Remove dead leaves and trim or relocate plants as needed, especially if larger plants are overshadowing smaller ones.

  4. Root care :
➡️ Only necessary every two weeks for the following plants: arugula, celery, leaf mustard, sunflower, snack cucumber, tomatoes
➡️ For all other plants, it is sufficient to trim the roots once a month as part of the monthly care routine.

If the roots are longer than about 10cm, shorten them by about 1/3 to prevent them from clogging the irrigation system. Make sure not to remove more than one third of the roots to avoid hindering plant growth.
To ensure that the plant fits back into its hole, it is helpful to keep the root growth slender and to completely shorten laterally growing roots.

Monthly care routine (recommended - approx. 10-15 min.) :

Tip: The easiest way to clean it is if you do it monthly. If you wait several months, deposits can become more firmly attached – but you can still get them off well with citric acid.
A monthly water change also helps to maintain the balance of nutrients in the water. Each plant removes different amounts of nutrients from the water, which can lead to deficiencies in individual nutrients over time. Therefore, it is all the more important to work precisely when adding nutrients and to always replenish the correct amount.

  1. Unplug the power supply: First and foremost, always unplug the power supply and carefully place the Everleaf Garden upright on a towel.

  2. Cleaning the container: Empty the remaining water (or use it to water other plants), clean the container with water and a little dish soap or citric acid, and fill it with fresh tap water up to the "Max" mark (20 liters). Add plant food according to the initial dose (2ml per liter of water of A and B).

  3. Adjust pH value: After filling, check the pH value and adjust if necessary with pH-Minus. Stir the water well before each measurement.

  4. Plug in the power supply: Place the Everleaf Garden back on the water reservoir and plug the power supply back in.

  5. Finally: Don't forget about root care and the plant check as part of your weekly routine.

Regular basic cleaning:

If, despite your monthly care routine, your Everleaf Garden becomes dirty over time or root residue accumulates in the columns, it's time for a thorough cleaning. The build-up of germs and bacteria in your indoor garden can attract pests and harm your plants over time. Therefore, it's crucial to properly clean your Everleaf Garden at regular intervals. Tip for keeping your indoor garden clean for longer:

Keep your indoor garden free of deposits for longer, while simultaneously promoting the root health of your plants and preventing diseases – all with the help of hydrogen peroxide. An effective tip that you can easily integrate into your care routine!

To use this miracle cure, simply add 1-2 ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide per liter of fresh water to your water reservoir once a week. Note that stabilized (food-grade) hydrogen peroxide should be used, as it does not dissolve quickly. However, only start using hydrogen peroxide once your plants have reached a certain size, as seedlings are particularly sensitive to it.

An important tip: Less is often more! Avoid using too much hydrogen peroxide to prevent potential damage to your plants. The right dosage ensures a healthy indoor garden that feels comfortable and thrives beautifully. Try it out and observe the positive changes!
