Pflanzen platzieren im Indoor Garten

Tips for optimal placement of plants

Not all plants need the same amount of light – and depending on where you place them in the garden, they'll grow better or worse. Here's how to make the most of your 24 spots.

Different light intensities

Light intensity is highest in the center of the garden and decreases toward the outside. Plants that need a lot of light should go in the inner positions first. If they grow too large later on, simply swap them with a plant from the outside – the pods can be moved at any time. And as plants grow taller, they get closer to the light and naturally make up for the difference anyway.

Recommended placement

We have put together three plant starter sets for you to use as a guideline. However, please note that these are only recommendations. In the end, the placement of your plants is entirely up to you.

You can also see how many seedlings should be left per plant by looking at the "Thin to" column. You should cut off the rest as soon as the seedlings form their first main leaves. An empty field means that you do not need to thin anything and all seedlings should grow.

Inside or outside? A guide

In addition to the starter kits, we would like to give you an overview of which plants should be placed inside or outside. In this picture you can also see the number of seedlings that should remain after germination. Remember that some plants need space to grow optimally.

Plant positions

By choosing their position carefully, you can ensure that they make the most of the light and thrive. Use our recommendations as a starting point and design your garden to suit your own taste. Plants that need little light can just as easily be placed inside.
